It's really amazing how your hormones can take hold of your thoughts. The cravings started right away, but so did the aversions. Here is my list so far:
Cravings:
Chex Mix
Root Beer
Lemonade
Orange Juice
Chips and Salsa from Chili's
Homewrecker Juniors from Moes (has since disappeared)
General Tso's Chicken
Plain White Rice
anything with spagetti
Garlic
Buffalo anything
Pizza
Aversions:
Pretty much all meat, unless it's already cooked and prepared.. Can't cook raw meat
Yogurt at first, but now enjoy
water? yes.. I used to only drink water now I don't want it
some vegetables- seems to come and go
Turkey
These are pretty dangerous and I"m trying to get a hold of my appetite. I have hungry days and full days. I don't want to gain a million pounds. The digestive track is pretty volitile while pregnant, so I have to consider this everyday before I eat.

The first 12 weeks
We are going to be parents! At 35 and 45 we are starting this adventure into the great unknown. I took a test November 2nd, after a very nauseous evening watching Journey. I had a feeling something was slightly off. I was right.. Pregnant!
Rob had not gotten home from work yet, so I only had a short time to figure out how to tell him this news.. News that will forever change our lives.
He was shocked. His face went white and then mine.. I wasn't sure if he was mad or happy or just needed some time to take it all in. He gave me a hug and kiss and I knee then that it was all going to be ok.
I made a doctors appointment the next Monday. They were able to get me in that Friday. So I went in and they confirmed my test, gave me a stack of dos and dont's, scheduled an appt with the OB, and sent me on my way. My next appointment was for November 28th, 3weeks later. Rob was able to meet me for the appointment.
During this appointment we were able to see the babies heartbeat and a ultrasound image. Also confirm the due date, July 13th, 2013. A few days later than I had calculated. It was amazing to see that little flicker on the screen. This really cemented the fact that there was a living being inside me.
